How the Increased Power and Throttle Response is\u00a0achieved<\/strong><\/em>
\nThe bespoke large\u00a0surface area, high flow air filter alters the direction of the airflow towards the outer walls of the velocity stack shaped\u00a0intake tube.
\nThis therefore creates\u00a0a smoother and less restrictive air flow allowing which in turn reduces the load on the engine and allows for more ambient air to enter the engine.<\/p>\n

The overall effect is a vastly improved driving experience with faster throttle response, a sophisticated V10 race car like induction sound and more power.
\nThe faster throttle response will naturally give the impression of more quickly available torque at lower engine speeds also.<\/p>\n

Why a Sealed Intake is Important on the S85 V10 Engine<\/em><\/strong>
\nThe majority of intake systems on the market are open designs which allow high temperature engine bay air to enter the intake system.
\nThis has has a two tier negative\u00a0effect:
\nThe most understood effect is that\u00a0the hotter engine bay air is less dense in oxygen which naturally produces less power.
\nThe second effect is less well understood.\u00a0 The\u00a0ECU detects the higher temperature air through the intake air temperarture sensor located inside the MAF sensor.\u00a0 The compenstion tables will reduce ignition timing which has a drastic effect on power output.\u00a0 In the case of the MSS85 ECU running the S85 V10 engine, not only is ignition timing retarded but fuelling is also increased which further reduces power.
